I've no idea what a Toyota Avalon is but I doubt that it's a better buy than the Merc.

Even without a warranty the slk is a better buy. Those are super reliable, you can't kill that engine. Crazy fun too!

Yeah, i think since it has the least power compared than the the other "55" AMG, i think the engine it's not as stressed as the bigger brother.

More power than previous non supercharged 55's, but less than supercharged versions. Also the very last iteration of the m113 with more coolers than any other (aside from e55k). And in the lightest car. That engine was always bullet proof. Worst problems are water pumps and valve cover gaskets.
